Polycarbonate is a strong, durable material, designed to withstand repeated use. Its transparency makes it easy to check the filling during casting and helps to ensure clean demoulding when the manufacturing steps are followed correctly.
We do not recommend the use of beeswax in polycarbonate moulds.

Instructions for making cylindrical candles
Preparing and melting the wax
Place your wax in a suitable container and heat to 80-90°C, monitoring the temperature with a thermometer. A well-controlled temperature promotes an even surface and easier removal from the mould.
Caution: never melt the wax directly in a pan or over a flame.
Adding colour
To colour your cylindrical candles, add liquid or granulated colourant at a rate of around 2 to 4 g per 1 kg of wax. To check the colour, pour a small amount of wax into cold water. Too much colourant can alter the combustion quality.
Installing the wick
Select a wick to match the diameter of the mould. Make a double knot at one end and insert it through the tip of the mould. Secure it at the other end with a pin so that the knot closes the opening properly and prevents any wax leaking out.
Pouring and filling
Pour the liquid wax into the mould. As it cools, a hollow may appear in the centre. Top up with a little hot wax if necessary. To create a layered effect, the mould can be tilted slightly and stabilised in a suitable support.
Demoulding
Once the wax has cooled completely, cut the knot at the base and carefully remove the candle. If necessary, place the mould in the fridge for a few minutes to make removal easier.
Practical advice and safety
Work on a protected surface and wear an apron. Before each use, make sure the mould is clean and perfectly dry. Always check the temperature of the wax using a thermometer.
Candles should only be made under adult supervision. Wax vapour becomes flammable at temperatures above 180°C. Never leave a candle burning unattended and place it on a heat-resistant surface.
