AFNOR safety labels – For compliant and professional handcrafted candles
Safety is an integral part of creating a handcrafted candle. AFNOR (French Standardization Association) is an organization specializing in the development of technical and regulatory standards in various fields. It also develops standards for the candle industry, and these are the ones we are interested in here.
The standards concerning the manufacture of spark plugs (NF EN 16740, NF EN 15426, NF EN 15493, NF EN 15494 and NF EN 17616) are voluntary. They are therefore not mandatory, but their application is strongly recommended. They help to limit the risk of accidents, clearly inform the user about best practices, and protect the manufacturer in the event of an incident.
Important: these labels are for candles only. They meet the AFNOR standard, which is separate from the CLP regulation: they in no way replace CLP labelling.
A roll suitable for all your containers
This roll contains 200 ready-to-use self-adhesive labels, specially designed for most scented and decorative candle containers.
Each label features 11 pictograms, including:
- The mandatory safety pictograms, including the two required by the NF EN 16740 standard of December 2015 : avoid inhaling smoke directly and ventilate the room after use.
- Optional pictograms to supplement user information.
Available with a white or transparent background to match your designs and packaging.
Technical specifications

- Powerful heat-resistant adhesive, compatible with glass, metal and most waxes.
Warning: These labels are not suitable for floating candles, as the pictogram “Use in a suitable cup filled with water” is not included in this roll.
