Rapeseed wax for moulded candles and scented fondants
European-origin, GMO-free rapeseed wax isn’t the easiest wax to work with, but it can be used to make candles with a unique character. It combines aesthetics with a responsible approach. Rapeseed is a local crop, grown on land that has already been farmed to preserve the soil and encourage regeneration between harvests.

Characteristics of rapeseed wax for moulded candles and scented pebbles
Rapeseed wax is made from at least 90% hydrogenated rapeseed oil, enriched with less than 10% other vegetable waxes to improve crystallisation. It is of natural origin, vegan, with no mineral paraffin and no traces of GMOs. Produced from European rapeseed, it has been specially developed for the manufacture of moulded candles and scented pebbles.

Dye integration
This wax is ideal for use with dyes, whether powder, liquid or shavings. For a uniform result, add the colourant during the heating phase, at a temperature of at least 75°C, and mix carefully. If you want to intensify the colour, you can add a small amount of black colourant.
Incorporating fragrance
Rapeseed wax for moulded candles and scented pebbles is compatible with all types of fragrance, as long as you choose fragrances that are suitable for candles. The recommended dosage is between 7 and 10%, depending on the desired olfactory intensity.
Using rapeseed wax for scented moulded candles
For better demoulding, we recommend pouring the wax into pre-heated moulds.
Optimum mould filling
The ideal pouring temperature is between 70 and 75°C. The use of a thermometer is strongly recommended to ensure accuracy.
Choice of wicks
For this wax, opt for a flat, thicker wick than for other waxes. Cotton wicks are an excellent option. It will take several tries to find the right balance, especially if you are adding dyes or perfumes.
Cooling conditions
Rapid cooling is essential. Avoid placing the moulds close together to allow good air circulation. Ideally, place them on a grid rather than on a solid surface to encourage even cooling all around the mould.
