Jesmonite® AC84 DUOSET – High-strength mineral composite
Jesmonite® AC84 comes as two components: a water-based acrylic resin liquid and a cement-based mineral powder. Stronger than AC100, AC84 is ideal for indoor and outdoor use: it resists sun and rain for long-lasting, beautiful objects.
Easy and versatile
Efficient and user-friendly, with a fast 2-hour drying time, ideal for premium creations. Customisable with pigments (note: not fully UV-resistant — outdoors, colours may fade over time), it allows a smooth or textured finish. Benefits: no harmful chemicals, fire-resistant, lightweight and impact-resistant.
Suitable for candle making
Creations made with this material can be used as candle vessels. However, as it is naturally porous, it is essential to apply a suitable protective treatment, such as Jesmonite acrylic varnish, before any use.
We recommend letting your creation dry for at least 48 hours before pouring the wax, to ensure optimal heat resistance.
Before any sale, every vessel intended to hold a candle must undergo burn tests to validate its safety and suitability for the intended use.
This product has not been tested for use in contact with foodstuffs.
Dosage and tips
Ratio 5:1 (5 parts base to 1 part liquid) — a Jesmonite calculator is available to help with dosing. Sieve the powder before mixing to remove lumps, place your mould on a vibrating plate so air bubbles can escape, and prepare 5 to 10% more than the theoretical amount. You can add up to 2% of the total weight in Jesmonite® pigment. Work in warm, dry conditions away from direct light. Store between 5 and 25 °C.
